The client needed a practical extension to increase living space on a set budget. However, they were clear about avoiding the typical “glass box” or greenhouse look. The goal was to create a room that would feel like a true part of the home, both structurally and visually, while keeping costs under control.
We designed a straightforward lean-to conservatory with a clean white frame and polycarbonate roof to meet the client’s budget and insulation needs. A key design choice was the inclusion of a rustic internal brick finish – this added warmth and helped connect the new space to the character of the existing home. By paying close attention to proportions and materials, we ensured the structure felt like a natural continuation of the property, not an afterthought.
The finished conservatory now serves as a welcoming lounge area overlooking the garden. The brick interior adds charm and a sense of permanence, while the polycarbonate roof provides insulation and filtered natural light. The space is comfortable, cost-effective, and enhances the client’s daily living without compromising on quality or style.
